Australienaustausch 2013

Datum:
Sonntag, 7. April 2013

Healsville Sanctuary
At the Healesville Sanctuary you can learn interesting things about Australian animals and you can see animals that don’t live in Germany. Healesville Sanctuary is a very big animal park, where you can see koalas, dingos and more Australian animals. There are many attractions, forexample bird shows, dingo shows or you can go to the reptile house. There are mentors who tell you interestig things. Sometimes you can touch some of the animals.

Exchange to Australia
The first week here in Australia is over, and all I saw was very different from Germany. With my host family I went to a supermarket, and there was a very big department with sweets. There were so many,  hat I didn’t know what to buy. All the exchange students went together with their exchange partners to a park, which was like a zoo. There we saw lots of animals, which are from this country, from Australia. But the time ran away, so we couldn´t see all the animals, for example the emus. Yesterday we went to a place which was like an old western city. All the people there were dressed in old clothes, and it looked very funny. There was an old bowling centre, we tried to play it, but it was very difficult. We also went underground, I liked it, but I was a little bit afraid that we would die, and it was very dark. But all in all I really liked this trip. And at the end of the day I was so tired, because we saw so many new and interesting things.

Lifetime changing experience
This German exchange has been a lifetime changing experience. I`ve flown over to the other side of the world and lived like others live in Germany. I`ve been to Berlin and touched the Brandenburg Gate and I´ve had a German ”Brezel”. Im not going to forget my time here for a while. I`m always going to remember the good times I´ve had here. I feel so privileged to visit and to experience life here.
Going out on excursions and going to the Holiday Park were my favourite times on this exchange. The Holiday Park was wonderful. I went on all the rides and I even went on the “Giant Drop” and “GE Force” roller coaster. It was really awesome!!
I loved being in Heidelberg with the Aussie students and visiting castles and eating the wonderful food they have in Germany. I´ve loved my time here in Germany and I`m definitely coming here again.

“Thank you” to everyone
My time here at the Melibokus School has been awesome! The classes, teachers and especially students have been cool and very interesting. The school is very different to Gleneagles.
I have made good friends in class and I have many memories I will never forget! My favourite class has been Music with Mr. Moschner. His classes have always been fun and interesting.
Germany in all, has been incredible and I don`t want to leave, but I will definitely be back in the next few years. “Thank you” to everyone I have met, for being so kind.
